After IB@cPP.
At CPP our objective [with the Diploma Programme] is to provide students with the skills necessary for success in their educational or career-related endeavors. For that reason we highlight the skills the Programme fosters. Whether students take one IB course, are full Diploma candidates, or take multiple IB courses they will learn:
and many other skills necessary for success in a post-high school environment.
- time management
- independent, critical thinking
- self-awareness
- self-advocacy
and many other skills necessary for success in a post-high school environment.
What to expect, post-IB exams:
IB scores are released in early July. Candidates will receive a letter from the DP Coordinator detailing the score-release site and their login information. Scores are released on this website: http://results.ibo.org Students can attempt access three times before they are locked out--if you experience problems with your login, please contact Mrs. GR, your IB Coordinator.

Scores to colleges:
Your scores for each exam session are sent free-of-charge to the first college or university you declare--if you do not complete the document requesting scores to be sent they are (by default) sent to the college you declare with the guidance office. The scores are mailed (or emailed) directly to your college or university in early August. At that point, the college is responsible for inputting the scores and communicating whether you will (or will not) receive credit for the course. This always takes time! Some schools will wait until you
matriculate before inputting the scores and/or issuing credit. It is a really good idea to keep the course syllabus, any copies of Internal Assessments or any other materials you might think are pertinent or relevant. In the event that you need to petition an academic department for credit, your course syllabus will prove essential in demonstrating the rigor of the IB course you took in high school. Your Internal Assessment will demonstrate your skill level and help aid the discussion surrounding your request. If you experience any problems with this process or have questions, please contact your IB Coordinator directly. Transferring?
If you are transferring to a different school, you'll need to pay to have those IB scores sent. Scores can be requested electronically by visiting http://ibo.org . A mail-in request form is available from the IB Coordinator's office. The cost of sending transcripts is $17. Please email your request or any questions to kradford@cppmail.com. Once the request is received the form will be emailed to you. The scores will be sent directly to the school you declare. |

Applying to college?
What about the college application process? What are the best strategies for making yourself attractive to colleges?
DP candidates, both certificate students and those pursuing the full Diploma, offer colleges a unique skill set. Full diploma candidacy, specifically, sends colleges a message about your skill-set, your approach to academics, your balanced approach to being a student, and your commitment. Because this is an international program this message is clear in the US, in Canada, and across the world. IB programs are offered in 140 countries across the world--the consistency of expectation and the curricular framework are familiar to many universities both in the US and abroad. It is important to remember that although your DP scores might not transmit into direct college credit, your IB Diploma could be that factor that makes your college application stand out.
IB offers guidance on making your credentials stand out.

Here at CPP we recommend that you meet with the DP Coordinator and your guidance counselor. As a team we can help you work through the visitation process, help you find former CPP students to talk to, help you navigate the application process, and help you think of great questions to ask while on those college tours! And... you'll work on your personal statement essay in your senior English class.
